The Hannibal City Council Tuesday night passed a resolution authorizing a contract between the city and Chester Bross Construction for the Miscellaneous Road Improvement Project. Bross's winning bid of $6.35 million came in under engineers' estimates for the work, which will bring all city streets up to maintenance level according to Department of Public Works Superintendent Brian Chaplin.

Next up will be a meeting between the city, the engineers and Bross to actually map out the project, which Chaplin says will be ongoing through October. The project will then resume during the 2018 and 2019 construction seasons.

Chaplin expects the list of streets and tentative schedule will be posted on the city's website, once it is mapped out.
