Health Department says 36 people tested positive Wednesday

An 11th Adams County resident has died of COVID-19.

The Adams County Health Department said Thursday that a man in his 90's died Wednesday of the virus. The Health Department said that 36 people tested positive Wednesday. That's the highest one-day total since the start of the pandemic. Those testing positive include a girl under 10, 8 people age 10 to 19, and 7 people in their 20's. That brings the County's total number of positives above 1,300, to 1,314. Despite the new positives, the number of people actively infected continues to drop, and is now down to 138. 19 people are hospitalized, with three of them in the Intensive Care Unit. The Health Department now says that only 17 per cent of the County's hospital beds remain available.

As a result of the new positives, Adams County's 7-day positivity rate has risen sharply, and is at 7.36 per cent.
