18 month old Quincy boy dies after being found unresponsive

Authorities say Niall Clark drowned in backyard pool at 606 Jackson

A Quincy boy is dead, the victim of a possible drowning in a back yard pool on the city's south side.

Adams County Coroner Jim Keller confirmed Wednesday that 18 month old Niall Clark boy died after an incident that morning at a home in the 600 block of Jackson. Just before Noon, Quincy Police said Clark was found unresponsive, and had been taken out of a back yard pool at the home.

Deputy Police Chief Doug Vandermaiden said firefighters responded to a call for CPR in progress at the home, and that Clark was taken to Blessing, where he was pronounced dead just before 1 P.M.. Police say their investigation will continue.
