2nd coronavirus case confirmed in Adams County

Man in his 30's tested positive Saturday; works in healthcare field

Adams County is reporting its' second case of coronavirus, a man in his 30's who works in healthcare.

The Adams County Health Department announced Saturday that they had received a positive test result for the man, who traveled earlier in March. A statement says that the Health Department is "evaluating the possibility of travel-related or community exposure." The man was tested Thursday, and has been under isolation at home since then. His employer has been contacted, and they're now notifiying other employees about possible exposure. The Health Department says it's currently conducting a contact tracing and notifying anyone in the area who came in contact with the man from March 15th through Wednesday. They expect that to be finished by the end of the day Saturday.

The Health Department says that as of early Saturday afternoon, 39 people have tested negative for COVID-19, while results are pending on another 67 people. 14 of them are hospitalized. The Illinois Department of Public Health announced 465 new cases Saturday, and said that 13 more people have died, including an infant in Cook County.
