Paul Havermale's first court date is May 22

A Quincy Alderman is facing a court hearing next month, after his arrest on a DUI charge.

3rd Ward Alderman Paul Havermale is facing that charge, and a charge of Failure to Reduce Speed, after a traffic accident last Thursday night. According to the Adams County Sheriff's Office, the accident happened just before 10 PM at 4th and Hampshire, when Havermale's vehicle collided with a second vehicle, driven by 24 year old Jasmine Jackson-Morgan of Quincy. She suffered minor injuries, and was treated at Blessing Hospital. A press release from the Sheriff's Office says that Havermale was taken to the Adams County Jail, where he later posted bond. The DUI charge is listed as a class A misdemeanor, with a maximum sentence of five days in jail and a 12 hundred dollar fine.

Havermale is due in court May 22.
