Two people have been arrested in connection with the fatal shooting Friday of a 7 year old girl in Rural Adams County.
Sheriff’s Deputies were called to Blessing Hospital to investigate the reported accidental shooting of Melina Torres who died as a result of her injury.
Officers learned that the incident had occurred at Melina’s grandmother’s residence southeast of Liberty during a family gathering.
At approximately 1015 Friday night, Sheriff’s Officers lodged the Grandmother - 49-year old Julie Roberts in the Adams County Jail for Obstruction of Justice.
The young girl's uncle - 32-year old Daniel Roberts was jailed for Endangering the Life of a Child, Possession of Weapon by a Felon, and Obstruction of Justice.
They will be held pending their court appearance tomorrow.
The case is still currently under investigation.
