Melina Torres died Friday in Blessing Hospital
Authorities have released the name of the girl who was fatally shot Friday afternoon in Adams County, near the Pike County line.
County Coroner Jim Keller has identified the girl as 7 year old Melina Torres of Quincy. Torres was taken to Blessing Hospital Friday afternoon after the shooting, which happened around 12:30 at a home in Beverly Township, in the south-west part of the county. Keller later pronounced Torres dead at the hospital.
Adams County Sheriff's deputies have released no other details about the shooting, but say that their investigation is continuing.
