Woman in her 100's passed away; 18 people hospitalized

A 7th Adams County resident has died of COVID-19, and the County's set a record for the number of people hospitalized due to the virus.

Tuesday morning, the Adams County Health Department announced the death of a woman in her 100's. It's the second straight day where someone has died of the virus. The Health Department also said that on Monday, 13 more people tested positive. The new cases range in age from 10 to 89, and they bring the total number of positive results to 549. The Health Department says that 114 people are actively infected, and that 18 people, aged 30 to 99 are in the hospital. Of those, 4 are in the Intensive Care Unit. Over 20,000 people have tested negative for the virus. The Health Department says that 30 per cent of the County's hospital beds are available, including 50 per cent of critical care beds. In addition, 61 per cent of the County's ventilators are available.

The County's positivity rate over the last 7 days keeps climbing, and is now at 5.21 per cent.
