Adams County Sheriff's Office says one man in stable condition after Sunday incident
One person is in stable condition after being shot once Sunday in what authorities call a hunting accident in Adams County.
The Adams County Sheriff's Office says the accident happened near North 200th and East 2350th roads Sunday in Richfield Township, about four miles east of Plainville in southern Adams County. The victim, only identified as a 26-year old man, was shot once in the upper thigh while hunting. In a press release, Sheriff Brian Vonderhaar says the shooting was accidental. The man was air-lifted to Blessing Hospital in stable condition.
VonderHaar says that the Illinois Department of Natural Resources has taken over the investigation of the incident.
