Seizes $117,000 cash; largest known amount in County history

The Adams County Sheriff's Office says it's broken up a pot distribution ring, and seized the largest amount of suspected drug cash ever in the county.

In a statement Tuesday, Sheriff Brian VonderHaar said that three people have been arrested, that were involved in bringing large amounts of cannabis from Colorado into Quincy and Northeast Missouri. VonderHaar says that last Thursday night, they and the West Central Illinois Task Force were tipped off to the ring by the Northeast Missouri Drug Task Force. Early Friday morning, deputies raided a home at 2208 Jefferson in Quincy, where they seized about a pound and a half of cannabis, a firearm and nearly $61,000 in cash. Deputies later raided a home at 1126 South 18th in Quincy, where they seized about 5 ounces of cannabis, 11 ounces of cannabis wax, multiple firearms, two vehicles, and about $56,000 in cash.

VonderHaar says that Kevin Dromey and Emily Goodwin of Quincy were found and arrested Tuesday on charges of Unlawful Calculated Criminal Cannabis Conspiracy and Conspiracy Cannabis Trafficking. Both are in the Adams County Jail. Karen Dromey of Quincy is in the Marion County Jail on charges of sale of a controlled substance in Missouri. She's also being held on an Adams County warrant for Unlawful Possession With Intent to Deliver Cannabis.

The seizure of nearly $117,000 in cash from the two homes is the largest known cash drug asset seizure in Adams County history.
