The Adams County Board Wednesday night voted to add 20 parking spaces to the 36 spaces in that north lot, at a cost of nearly $86,000. The work will be done on the new spaces while the current parking lot is resurfaced. County officials say that the $86,000 is half of what a similar project would cost if they had to do the project by itself. The County Board also approved its' half on an intergovernmental agreement with the city of Quincy over City Lot D, which is on Vermont Street near the new Jail. Finance Committee Chair Bret Austin says that the City and County will work together on the $630,000 project, so that the County can re-coup over 500 thousand dollars it has with the State Department of Commerce and Economic Opportunity.

The new Jail is still on track to be completed by the end of the year.
