Adams County Board delays decision on disputed Jail bill

Adams County Board delays decision on disputed Jail bill

Hoping settlement's reached in next month

The Adams County Board has delayed how to proceed in a dispute with a contractor over demolition work on the site of the new County Jail.

The Board Tuesday night tabled for a month a decision on whether to make an additional payment to Blick's Construction Company, who tore down buildings on the County Jail site prior to the start of construction. Jail sub-committee Chair Mark Peter says both sides could still reach an agreement.

Peter adds that the Company did the work without submitting a change order request to the Board. The Jail sub-committee voted last week to recommend not paying the additional bill.
