The County Board Tuesday night approved 10 different change orders that will shave just over $408,000 off the cost of the Jail. They include changes in duct work and exterior wall coverings, and were flagged by Construction Manager Sid Wilson, working with the contractor and architects HOK. Jail Sub-committee Chairman Mark Peter says that's one reason why they hired Wilson.

Peter said that several of the items that were changed were high-end products that weren't needed for the Jail, items they tried to remove from the project earlier this year.

Foundation work on the new Jail should start in the second week of December.
