Adams County COVID cases nearing 900

14 more people tested positive Tuesday; total now at 898

The number of positive cases of COVID-19 in Adams County will likely rise above 900 by the end of the week.

On Wednesday, the Adams County Health Department said that 14 people tested positive for the virus on Tuesday. They include a boy and two girls age 10 to 19, and the new cases range in age from 10 to 89. They bring the total number of positive results to 898. Of those cases, 72 are currently active. Eight people aged 40 to 99 are hospitalized, but no one is in the Intensive Care Unit. Nearly 29 thousand people have now tested negative for the virus. The seven-day positivity rate keeps rising, and is now at 4.41 per cent. So are the 14 and 28-day averages of new cases. The 14-day positivity rate is at 3.3 per cent.

Ten Adams County residents have died of COVID-19.
