Another Quincy restaurant closes

Talayna's shuts down abruptly

“Talayna's has sold our building and will no longer be open for business. We would like to thank all of our loyal customers and fantastic employees! It was not an easy decision, but we think it will be good for us. We are looking forward to the next chapter in our lives.  If anyone has any outstanding gift cards please message me, or call the restaurant and leave a message.  We will be happy to refund them.  Again, thank you everyone.”

That was the FACEBOOK message Talyana’s owner Shari Tobias posted Tuesday night.  It was news that yet another Quincy restaurant had closed its doors.  Add Talayna’s to the list that includes TGI Fridays, Kreigers, Long John Silvers, Lakeview Restaurant and others and one can see that selling and serving food in this economy is extra tough.

Talayna’s had a great luncheon buffet that included various kinds of pizza, fried chicken and all the fixin’s, as well as a salad bar made famous by Talayna’s home made salad dressing.  They even made dessert pizza.  Who could forget that?

The staff was both friendly and pleasant and Shari was almost always there to greet you or thank you for the business—or both. It’s a shame they’re closing as Quincy diners lose another locally home owned eatery. Good luck to the Tobias family and the staff.
