Christopher Esry may enter a plea July 10

A former Madison, Missouri man, accused of fatally shooting two Columbia men during a drug deal in Moberly, will wait a month to enter a plea.

Christopher Esry was set to be arraigned Wednesday in Randolph County Circuit Court. Circuit Clerk officials say that on a defense motion, the hearing for Esry was delayed to July 10th. He's charged with two counts of first-degree murder and one count of 1st Degree Robbery. Esry's one of four men charged in the alleged shootings, which Moberly police say were committed December 28th as part of a robbery plan during a meth deal. The victims, 51-year old Darren Tharp and 24-year old Shane Hare, were found in a car with gun-shot wounds to the head. Esry is alleged to have fired the fatal shots, and was caught New Years' night during a traffic stop on US 24 just east of Madison. Three other Moberly men also face 2nd Degree Murder and evidence tampering charges in the case.

All four are in the Randolph County Jail on $1 million cash-only bond.
