Arson trial for Quincy woman delayed

Arson trial for Quincy woman delayed

July 9th trial date for Lori Thompson stricken Wednesday

A Quincy woman, facing six counts of arson in connection with five different residential fires between 2016 and 2017 on the city's southeast side, including three at the same home, has had her July trial date stricken.

Lori Thompson was in Adams County Circuit Court Wednesday for a status hearing, ahead of a July 9th trial. Court records show that was stricken, and instead, she'll have a status hearing August 22nd. Thompson's pleaded Not Guilty to one Class X count of Aggravated Arson and five counts of Residential Arson. Thompson was arrested nearly a week after being indicted by an Adams County Grand Jury on those charges. Prosecutors say Thompson set two fires in the city, on December 1, 2016 at 2317 Waters Court and on October 4, 2017 at 3206 Rutledge Place. They think Thompson also set three different fires at 2436 Curved Creek on October 11, November 8 and November 10, 2016. Police say she lived at all three homes at the time of the fires.

Thompson's free on $50,000 bond.
