Darlene Elles waives jury as part of likely deal with prosecutors

One of two Northeast Missourians, charged with meth trafficking after their arrest in Quincy in May, has decided to enter a Guilty plea next month in a likely deal with prosecutors.

Darlene Elles of rural Audrain County was in Adams County Circuit Court Wednesday for a status hearing. Court records show that at the hearing, Elles waived her right to a jury, and will enter a plea October 24th. A co-defendant, Anthony Hutton, was also in court Wednesday. His case was delayed to October 3rd. Elles and Hutton are both charged with Meth Trafficking, Meth Delivery of 100 to 400 grams and two counts of possession of a controlled substance. They were indicted in late May on the charges by an Adams County Grand Jury. Prosecutors say the pair were arrested after their vehicle was stopped for a traffic violation in the 900 block of Jefferson. Both Elles and Hutton allegedly had over 50 grams of meth ICE and numerous Oxycodone pills.

Both are in the Adams County Jail – Elles on $150,000 bond, and Hutton on $100,000 bond.
