Down a tenth in Quincy, up two tenths in Adams Co, Quincy/Hannibal area
August unemployment numbers fell slightly in Quincy, and rose slightly in Adams County.
That's according to figures released Thursday by the Illinois Department of Employment Security. The August rate in Quincy fell a tenth to 4.3%, while it rose two tenths to 4.2% in Adams County, and to 4% in the combined Quincy - Hannibal job market. Rates in most Western Illinois counties either stayed unchanged, or fell slightly. The exception was in McDonough County, where the rate fell 1.1%. Unemployment rose in August in Northeast Missouri, including in both Hannibal and Marion County, where the rate rose by 4 tenths of a per cent. The rate rose by similar amounts in most Northeast Missouri counties, except in Clark County, where it fell a tenth, and in Pike County, where it remained unchanged.
Unemployment rose by three tenths in Lee County to 6.3%, the highest rate in Iowa. More statistics are below.
