Steve Homan free on $25,000 bond, in court May 5

The owner of a Quincy nightclub, charged with choking a Quincy University student early Easter morning, is free on bond and will be in court next month.

A warrant was served Thursday on Steve Homan, charging him with one count of Aggravated Battery. Records show that after he turned himself in, he posted $25,000 bond, and will have his first court appearance May 5th. Homan's accused in the early morning attack at The Barn nightclub on Front Street that injured QU freshman Jazzpher Evans. A charging document says that Homan put his arm around Evans's neck, and drug her for 20 seconds. Evans says she blacked out as a result of that, and also reported injuries to her face, neck, back and other parts of her body.

Quincy police say the investigation into the incident continues.
