One of two suspects in March shooting at Quincy apartment complex

A Chicago man, facing attempted murder and other charges in the March shooting at a Quincy apartment complex, has had his trial delayed a month.

Christopher Beaver was in Adams County Circuit Court Tuesday for a status hearing, ahead of his August 13th trial. Court records show that the trial was delayed to September 10th. Beaver’s pleaded Not Guilty to Class X counts of Attempted First Degree Murder and Aggravated Battery with a Firearm, as well as Aggravated Discharge of a Firearm. He was indicted on the charges by an Adams County Grand Jury March 29th, and was arrested six days later in Chicago by US Marshals. Beaver's suspected of taking part in the shooting at an apartment in the Country Club Heights complex on March 18th. A man was shot several times in the early morning incident, and suffered non-life-threatening wounds. Another suspect in the shooting, Louis Jenkins, has been indicted on similar charges, and will be in court Wednesday.

Both men are in the Adams County Jail.
