Kids under 16 not allowed in unless they need care

Blessing Hospital says it's restricting visitors, due to an increase in flu cases in the area.

The Hospital said Friday that children under 16 won't be allowed in until further notice, unless they need medical care. They add that kids under 16 shouldn't accompany a parent or guardian to visit a patient, or accompany the adult to the adult’s out-patient medical visit. They also add that people over 16 who recently felt ill not come to Blessing unless they need medical care. A statement says that the visiting restrictions are in place until further notice for the benefit of Blessing's patients and the general public.

A similar restriction is already in place at Hannibal Regional Hospital.
