Bond set for Quincy man accused of stealing from employer

$25,000 bond set Thursday for Joseph Scoggins

Bond's been set at $25,000 for a Quincy man, accused of stealing over $100,000 from the business where he worked.

That bond for Joseph Scoggins was set Thursday during his initial appearance in Adams County Circuit Court. He's facing one count of Theft over 100 thousand dollars. A report from the Adams County Sheriff's Office says they began investigating earlier this month a report of what they called "an internal theft that had occurred within an Adams County business." Charging documents say that Scoggins, while employed as the Marketing Manager for Melrose International in Quincy, stole the money over a two year period starting in October 2017.

He's in the in the Adams County Jail, and will have a preliminary hearing on Monday.
