Kavion Poplous appeared in a Cook County court-room
Bond's been set for the man accused of shooting his roommate earlier this week at Western Illinois University.
18-year old Kavion Poplous was in Cook County Circuit Court Thursday, where his bond was set at $1 million. He made his first appearance one day after turning himself in to Chicago police. The shooting took place in the room that Poplous and the victim shared in WIU's Thompson Hall around 10:30 Tuesday night. Police said the incident was related to a roommate dispute. Poplous, a freshman at WIU, is charged in McDonough County with counts of Attempted First-Degree Murder, Aggravated Battery, and Aggravated Discharge of a Firearm.
McDonough County has 30 days to bring him back to Macomb.
