Michael Allen Black's due back in court September 23

A Bowling Green man, accused of shooting and killing his step-son in 2017, has had his case delayed three months.

Michael Allen Black was in Pike County, Missouri Circuit Court Monday for a case management conference. Records show that the case was delayed to September 23rd. Black faces counts of 1st Degree Murder and armed criminal action in the August 18th 2017 shooting death of 31 year old Alexander Koch. According to authorities, the shooting happened while the two were talking outside their rural Bowling Green home. Earlier that night, Black and Koch had a physical altercation, and Black allegedly told arresting officers he was tired of being beaten by Koch, and admitting shooting him once in the abdomen. Koch died about an hour later at a Louisiana hospital.

Black’s free on $500,000 bond.
