5 years, 8 months ago by Scott Hardy

Jerry Gunn, 80, passed away Wednesday in St. Louis

The leader of an Adams County village has died.

Camp Point Village President Jerry Gunn died Wednesday at Barnes-Jewish Hospital in St. Louis at the age of 80. That's according to a notice posted online by the Lummis-Hamilton Funeral Home. Gunn's term was set to expire in May, 2021 after winning re-election in April 2017. That fall, he and trustees came under criticism for briefly separating a village K-9 officer from the former Chief of Police. It's expected that village trustees will appoint an interim village president to replace Gunn at their next meeting on August 21st. Besides being Village President, Gunn was also a co-owner of Gunn Construction of Camp Point.

Arrangements for Jerry Gunn are pending with the Lummis Hamilton Funeral Home in Camp Point.
