The League of Women Voters of Adams County says it will hold a candidate forum next month for the Adams County Sheriff's race.
Both the current Sheriff, Democrat Brian VonderHaar and his Republican challenger Jon McCoy have agreed to appear at the forum. The League says it will take place Thursday, September 22nd at 7 PM at the First Christian Church in Quincy. Both VonderHaar and McCoy will answer questions from a panel and from the audience.
VonderHaar was appointed Sheriff earlier this year by the County Board after Brent Fischer resigned to take a job with the State of Illinois. McCoy is a former Adams County Chief Deputy.
