Christopher Beaver charged in shooting at Country Club Heights complex
A Chicago man, facing attempted murder and other charges in the March 2018 shooting at a Quincy apartment complex, intends to enter a Guilty plea next week in a likely settlement with prosecutors.
Christopher Beaver was in Adams County Circuit Court Wednesday for a status hearing, prior to a March 11th trial. Records show that Beaver waived his right to a jury, and will now enter a plea next Tuesday. He had pleaded Not Guilty to Class X counts of Attempted First Degree Murder and Aggravated Battery with a Firearm, and one count of Aggravated Discharge of a Firearm. Beaver's accused of taking part in the early-morning shooting in an apartment in the Country Club Heights complex last March 18th. A man was shot several times, and suffered non-life threatening injuries. A second man implicated in the case, Louis Jenkins, has pleaded Guilty to a lesser charge and will be in court March 20th. He's free on $10,000 bond.
Beaver's in the Adams County Jail on $2 million bond.
