The Council Tuesday night approved bids of just under $150,000 for repairing the Spring Lake Lift Station, and just under $485,000 for installing two new clarifiers at the Wastewater Treatment Plant. City Engineer Jeff Conte says the new clarifiers were needed now.

The clarifiers are one of three projects at the Wastewater Plant that Conte says need to be replaced soon, along with the Aeration and Digestion systems. All three systems were in a presentation Conte previously made to the Council, pointing out needed repairs. He says many of the systems at the Plant are over 30 years old.

Conte hopes to have at least one of the other two systems replaced in the next Fiscal Year, starting in May.
