42 not-for-profit agencies received grants
Forty-two area not-for-profits have received nearly $109,000 in competitive grant funding from the Community Foundation Serving West Central Illinois & Northeast Missouri.
In a statement, the Community Foundation says the grants, awarded from 39 endowment funds it holds, will support a wide range of local, charitable interests, which cover arts and culture, community betterment, education, health and human services. The Community Foundation says that this year, five County Endowment Funds participated in the Competitive Grant process. Fund councils in Brown, Hancock and Pike Counties in Illinois and Lewis and Marion Counties in Missouri reviewed grant applications and made recommendations on grants to be awarded to best serve each county’s needs.
Those grants will be presented at separate awards ceremonies in each county later this month.
