Below average temperatures were experienced statewide the past week. Temperatures last week averaged 71.6 degrees, 4.4 degrees below normal. Precipitation averaged 0.82 inches statewide, 0.02 inches below normal. There were 5.5 days suitable for fieldwork for the week ending Sunday. Topsoil moisture supply was rated 9 percent very short, 28 percent short, 59 percent adequate, and 4 percent surplus. Subsoil moisture supply was rated 5 percent very short, 30 percent short, 64 percent adequate, and 1 percent surplus.

Corn in the dough stage reached 85 percent, up 16 percentage points from last week. Corn dented reached 47 percent, up 21 percentage points from last week. Corn condition was rated 2 percent very poor, 7 percent poor, 27 percent fair, 52 percent good, and 12 percent excellent.

Soybeans blooming reached 88 percent. Soybeans setting pods reached 64 percent. Soybean condition was rated 3 percent very poor, 6 percent poor, 27 percent fair, 53 percent good, and 11 percent excellent.

Cotton setting bolls reached 83 percent. Cotton condition was rated 1 percent very poor, 9 percent poor, 33 percent fair, 48 percent good, and 9 percent excellent.

Rice headed was at 88 percent. Rice condition was rated 1 percent very poor, 3 percent poor, 24 percent fair, 45 percent good, and 27 percent excellent.

Pasture and range condition was rated 1 percent very poor, 6 percent poor, 37 percent fair, 54 percent good, and 2 percent excellent.
