Court date set in Chaddock Federal suit

Court date set in Chaddock Federal suit

6 years, 2 months ago by Scott Hardy

Both sides will be in US District Court in Chicago April 18th

Lawyers for both an Iowa woman and Chaddock will be in US District court in Chicago in April, over the woman's negligence lawsuit, which says Chaddock allowed her 15-year old daughter to be snuck out of the facility, and later drugged, beaten and sexually assaulted at a party.

Court records show that the two sides will be in Federal court April 18th for a status hearing on the suit filed last week by the girl's mother, Kim Jensen. She claims her adopted daughter, identified as KJ, walked out the front door of her cottage late last August with two other girls and was taken to a party at a home in the 400 block of Spruce, where the alleged assault happened. It also claims that the two other girls were previously assaulted at the same home, after leaving the school. Jensen's asking for $75,000 and punitive damages. Chaddock President and CEO Debbie Reed has denied the charges, but the school hasn't yet formally responded in court.

They have until early March to do so.
