Crider case delayed two weeks

Prosecution granted delay; next hearing Dec 20

The father and step-mother of convicted murderer Steson Crider will have to wait two more weeks for preliminary hearings on charges related to the shooting death of Ray Humphrey, Junior.

Stefan Crider Junior and Julia Crider were in an Adams County courtroom Tuesday for that hearing on four counts of obstruction of justice. Judge Debra Wellborn did grant another two week delay to prosecutors. They allege that the Criders gave both money and a vehicle to Steson, to help him leave Illinois after the March 2015 shooting on Quincy's northwest side. Steson was later convicted of 2nd degree murder in the shooting, and is serving a 65-year prison sentence.

Both Criders are free on $10,000 bond, and will be back in court December 20th.
