Marquis Lidell indicted Thursday by Adams County Grand Jury

A DeKalb man, accused of severely burning a two-year Quincy girl, has been indicted by an Adams County Grand Jury.

That indictment against Marquis Lidell was handed down Thursday. Records show that Lidell will be back in Adams County Circuit Court November 27th, on the status of a preliminary hearing. Instead, an arraignment date may now be set at that hearing. Lidell was arrested in October on counts of Aggravated Battery to a Child Under 13 and Aggravated Domestic Battery. A report says that officers were called to a home in the 1500 block of South 5th, where they found the child with severe burns to her legs. She was first taken to Blessing Hospital, before being flown to a burn unit. Police say that Lidell was watching the child at the time of the incident.

He's in the Adams County Jail on $200,000 bond.
