Due to go on trial in Adams County September 10

A Missouri woman, one of two people charged with meth trafficking after their arrest in Quincy in May, has pleaded Not Guilty.

Darlene Elles of Benton City entered that plea Wednesday at her arraignment in Adams County Circuit Court. A September 10th trial date was also set at the hearing. Elles and Anthony Hutton of Hannibal are both charged with Meth Trafficking, Meth Delivery of 100 to 400 grams and two counts of possession of a controlled substance. They were indicted in late May on the charges by an Adams County Grand Jury. Prosecutors say the pair were arrested after their vehicle was stopped for a traffic violation in the 900 block of Jefferson. Both Elles and Hutton allegedly had over 50 grams of meth ICE and numerous Oxycodone pills. Hutton’s pleaded Not Guilty, and will go on trial in August. Elles will be back in court August 15th.

Both are in the Adams County Jail – Elles on $150,000 bond, and Hutton on $100,000 bond.
