Ewing man jailed after blocking traffic, assaulting motorist on MO 6

A Ewing man's in the Marion County Jail, accused of assaulting a motorist after he was standing in the middle of Highway 6 Thursday night.

The Marion County Sheriff's Office says they were called just after 10 PM about a man blocking traffic, by standing in the middle of the highway and screaming. Sheriff Jimmy Shinn says that 40 year old Jeremy Waddell also physically assaulted a driver who had gotten out of his vehicle to confront Waddell. According to Shinn, Waddell then verbally threatened deputies as they approached, before he was Tased and finally arrested. Waddell was unarmed at the time of the arrest.

He's being held in the Marion County Jail on charges of Assault and Resisting Arrest, pending a warrant. The Missouri State Highway Patrol also charged Waddell with Felony DUI and driving while revoked.
