Admits shooting neighbors' cars, houses last August

A Quincy man, accused of shooting his neighbors' cars and homes in early August, has pleaded Guilty to a lesser charge.

45 year old Jamie Farthing entered that plea Monday afternoon in Adams County Circuit Court to one count of Reckless Discharge of a Firearm. That charge was filed by prosecutors Friday, as part of a settlement deal. In return, one count of Aggravated Discharge of a Firearm was dropped. Farthing admitted his part in the August incident on Evergreen Drive West, on the city's south-east side. A resident told police their vehicle was damaged by a BB gun, but police found it instead had a bullet hole. Officers found that several home-owners also had similar damage to their homes and vehicles. They later arrested Farthing at his home in the 400 block of Evergreen Drive West.

Farthing, who remains free on $20,000 bond, will be sentenced February 2nd.
