Ralph Trezvant on trial in U.S. District Court in Springfield

The trial of a Quincy man facing a Federal drug charge got underway Tuesday.

Malcolm Trezvant is on trial in US District Court in Springfield on one count of Distributing a Controlled Substance. He’s accused of selling over 5 grams of Meth in Quincy in early February. A second man arrested with Trezvant, Dominic Hood, has already pleaded Guilty and been sentenced to 10 years in Federal prison. Last Friday, the Government had a motion approved that would allow certain Facebook conversations Trezvant had, showing that he knew Hood was distributing meth, to be used as evidence. Both men were arrested by US Marshals in April. Hood had an Adams County count of Meth Delivery dropped in April, while Trezvant had the same charge dropped in Adams County in June.

The trial's expected to last three days.
