Case moved from Ralls County on a change of venue

The former City Clerk of Center, Missouri, accused in a July shooting involving Ralls County's Sheriff and Chief Deputy, will have her case heard in mid-Missouri.

Court records show that on Tuesday, a motion for a change of venue in the case of Tracey Ray was granted in Ralls County Circuit Court. It will now be heard in Boone County. Ray is due to be arraigned on two counts of 1st Degree Assault and two counts of armed criminal action. The charges are in connection with a July 2nd incident near Spencer Creek, after Ray allegedly confronted law enforcement with a firearm. Ray allegedly injured Ralls County Sheriff Gerry Dinwiddie and Chief Deputy Ronald Haught. Both men returned fire, and injured Ray. She was treated and released from a St. Louis hospital. Ray was fired by the City of Center the following day, after allegations surfaced that she hadn't filed the city's required financial statements with the state since 2015. The city is facing $144,000 in fines, and the State Auditor's office is investigating.

Ray is free on $2,500 cash bond.
