Tracey Ray picked up by Missouri State Highway Patrol

The former City Clerk in Center, Missouri has been arrested on charges connected to a July shooting involving Ralls County's Sheriff and Chief Deputy.

Tracey Ray was arrested Thursday morning by the Missouri State Highway Patrol. She faces two counts of 1st Degree Assault and two counts of armed criminal action. The charges are in connection with a July 2nd incident near Spencer Creek, after Ray allegedly confronted law enforcement with a firearm. Ray then allegedly injured Ralls County Sheriff Gerry Dinwiddie and Chief Deputy Ronald Haught. Both men returned fire, and injured Ray. She was treated and released from a St. Louis hospital. Ray was fired by the City of Center the following day, after allegations surfaced that she hadn't filed the city's required financial statements with the state since 2015. The city is facing $144,000 in fines, and the State Auditor's office is investigating.

Ray's being held in the Pike County, Missouri Jail on $100,000 cash-only bond.
