Sheriff says group hit vehicles, businesses in Hamilton, Warsaw & Nauvoo
Hancock County authorities say they've arrested four people in a string of thefts this week in Warsaw, Hamilton and Nauvoo.
Hancock County Sheriff Scott Bentzinger identified those arrested as 18 year old Christian Skog, 18 year old Zachary Thurman and two male juveniles. In a statement, Bentzinger says that deputies found Skog and Thurman in a Warsaw garage Thursday morning, and that they had items stolen Monday from a vehicle in Hamilton. The pair and the juveniles also allegedly twice broke into a closed Nauvoo business on Monday, and broke into several other vehicles in Hamilton that same day. The four had also broken into several vehicles in Warsaw and Nauvoo early Thursday morning and had also committed several acts of vandalism that same night in Keokuk. In addition, Skog and Thurman are accused of stealing cash from the Warsaw library Wednesday.
They're both in the Hancock County Jail, while the juveniles are in the Adams County Youth Detention Center.
