6th Ward Alderman Dan Brink named Wednesday
A former Quincy Alderman and a Quincy University graduate have both been named to positions in state government by Governor JB Pritzker.
Governor Pritzker Wednesday named former 6th Ward Alderman Dan Brink to the Illinois Prisoner Review Board. Brink was an Alderman for 8 years, before stepping down in 2017. He's previously been a counselor at the Adams County Juvenile Center and then a probation officer for the Adams County Probation Department. For the past 10 years, he has served as an assistant vice president at First Banker's Trust, as well as a facility manager, collection officer, and responsible for security at the bank's 10 locations. Pritzker also named Maria Bocanegra as a Commissioner of the Illinois Commerce Commission. Bocanegra earned a Bachelor of Science in Political Science from QU, before getting her law degree from DePaul University. A statement from the Governor's Office says Bocanegra has previously served in both Democratic and Republican administrations, and was most recently an Arbitrator at the Illinois Workers’ Compensation Commission.
Both nominations are subject to confirmation by the Illinois Senate.
