Derek Greenwood accused of faking employment, job skills
A Griggsville man has been charged with defrauding a customer who hired him to fix their home.
The Pike County Sheriff's Office says they arrested 39-year old Derek Greenwood Sunday on two counts of Aggravated Home Repair Fraud and one count of Theft. A charging document says that Greenwood told an elderly Pike County man on June 14th that he was a licensed plumber, and worked for a Pittsfield remodeling company. Prosecutors say neither of those are true. Greenwood's also accused of supplying a quote for plumbing work for nearly a thousand dollars on the company's letterhead, and taking a $250 down payment.
Greenwood's in the Pike County Jail, awaiting his first court appearance. If convicted on all counts, he could get up to 20 years in prison.
