Antonio Sanchez sentenced to 20 years in prison

A Hamilton man has pleaded Guilty to lesser charges in the New Years' Day shooting death of a LaHarpe woman.

18-year old Antonio Sanchez was in Hancock County Circuit Court Wednesday, where according to our news-gathering partners at KHQA-TV, he pleaded guilty to one count each of 2nd Degree Murder and Home Invasion. Sanchez had been facing three counts of 1st Degree Murder, and one count of Aggravated Battery. After the plea, three members of Madison Finch's family gave victim statements to the court. Sanchez was then sentenced to 20 years in prison. He'll have to serve 85 per cent of his sentence, so he'll be behind bars for at least 17 years. Sanchez entered the Guilty plea as part of a settlement with prosecutors, which was only agreed to Tuesday morning, during the second day of jury selection in his trial.

Sanchez admitted shooting the 19-year old Finch once in the head during a New Years party at her LaHarpe home.
