Andrew DeHaven is accused of killing his father with a hammer in February

A Pontoosuc man, accused of beating his father to death with a hammer, has had his case delayed two months.

Andrew DeHaven was in Hancock County Circuit Court Monday for a pre-trial hearing. The Circuit Clerk's office says the hearing was delayed to October 19th. DeHaven's pleaded Not Guilty to three counts of 1st Degree Murder in the death of his father Michael DeHaven. Charging documents say that on February 9th, the younger DeHaven hit his father in the head with a hammer numerous times, at a home in the 600 block of 4th Street in Pontoosuc. He's then alleged to have told a neighbor to call the Hancock County Sheriff's Office, saying he just killed his father. DeHaven also allegedly told authorities he committed the murder after his arrest.

DeHaven's in the Hancock County Jail on $3 million bond.
