Council also sees update on water filtration project.
Hannibal now has a design plan for a tree canopy along Broadway. Hannibal Tree Board Chairperson Kristy Trevathan last night presented the treescape design plan to the council. Trevathan noted the plan is similar to the plan that was implemented on Main Street.
The design plan runs from the levee to Grand Avenue. The plan includes locations for trees, which Trevathan said may have to change due to the location of utilities. The plan will likely be implemented initially at City Hall.
In other action council members were briefed on the timeline for construction of the upgraded water filtration plant. Bids for the project will be let in late December and construction is likely to start in late January with a February 2020 completion date.
