Hannibal couple buys home with help from NECAC, USDA

A Hannibal couple is settling into their new home thanks to a low interest loan from the U S Department of Agriculture and NECAC.

Jack and Ginny Kennedy would not have been able to own a home without the assist from a USDA Direct 502 loan which they got with the assistance of the Northeast Community Action Corporation.

Necac Deputy Housing Director Carla Potts says the 502 loan is a low interest - fixed rate loan...

NECAC was the first non-profit in Missouri to process 502 loans and has recently been authorized to do the same in Illinois.

Missouri USDA Director Janie Dunning says USDA finances over 5 thousand homes every year - most to first time homeowners.

Dunning says her office distributes over a billion dollars a year through 40 different programs...
