Kenny Lumpford now faces five counts, will be back in court Friday

The trial of a Hannibal man, one of three men charged in an alleged kidnapping and sexual assault in May 2018, has been delayed after new charges were filed Monday.

Kenny Lumpford was in Marion County Circuit Court for a disposition hearing. He was set to have a three-day trial starting next Wednesday. Court records show those dates were stricken, after prosecutors filed three new counts. Lumpford now faces counts of Kidnapping, Domestic Assault along with two new counts of Armed Criminal Action and one new count of Harrassment. He'll have a preliminary hearing Friday on the new charges. A second man, Demetrice Moffett, is already serving a 10-year sentence after pleading Guilty in May to one count of second degree Rape. Moffett admitted raping the woman in a Hannibal hotel room in May 2018. A third man, Travis Gerard, is on 5 years' probation after pleading Guilty to drug and weapons charges. Lumpford's alleged to have known the victim, and is accused of making a deal with Moffett to take him to her, in exchange for drugs and money. Gerard admitted providing a .45 caliber handgun to Moffett and Lumpford.

Lumpford's already in the Missouri Department of Corrections, after having his probation revoked on a 2015 conviction.
