HPD says Alvin Mayfield, 37, ran from them Wednesday night

Hannibal police say they've arrested a St. Louis man, after he tried to run from them earlier this week.

The HPD announced Friday that they've arrested 37-year old Alvin Mayfield. A statement says that on Wednesday, ACES officers contacted Mayfield in the parking lot of the Hannibal Pizza Hut about a possession warrant. He then drove off, before eventually getting out of his car and fleeing on foot. Officers say that when he was arrested, Mayfield had heroin and pills, that he tried to get rid of while running. They add that no one was hurt during the chase.

Mayfield was charged Thursday in Marion County with counts of resisting arrest and two counts of possession of a controlled substance. He's in the Marion County Jail on a total of $55,000 bond, and will be in court next Friday on all charges.
