Katie Mickels sentenced for incident on North 15th in August 2017

A Hannibal woman, who’s pleaded Guilty to several charges in connection with an early August 2017 assault case in Quincy, has been sentenced to a long prison term.

Katie Mickels was sentenced Wednesday afternoon to 13 years in prison, at a hearing in Adams County Circuit Court. She entered Guilty pleas in May to amended counts of Home Invasion and Aggravated Battery, and to one count of meth possession. The pleas came as part of a settlement with prosecutors, after she waived her right to a jury in March. Mickels was charged after an early August 2017 incident. She fled police after driving her vehicle off North 12th Street.

Mickels then eventually entered a home in the 1400 block of North 15th, and beat a woman.
